Saline Seed is a company dedicated to the development of halophyte agriculture (High salinity tolerant plants). Founded in 1997 by Jose Ramon Noriega and Dan Murphy, Saline Seed was the pioneer of salicornia production around the world. Salicornia production continues today , improving the standards of quaity and developing new sub products.
Thanks to the family collaboration and reasearch & development programs, Saline Seed produces Salicornia Bigelovii, one of the most palatable and high quality salicornia species in the market. This gives us the oportunity to sell a high quality product to other countries and compete worldwide.
Located in the estuary of Maneadero, Ensenada Baja California, Saline Seed is capable of producing salicornia throughout the entire year.

Salicornia
The Salicornia, also known as Sea Asparagus, Samphire or Sea Beans, is a plant that grows on or near sea shores around the world. It posses a high tolerance to salinity, being able to grow with the use of sea water. It is mainly used to flavor foods with a herbaceous-salty taste. Containing an excellent nutritional and mineral profile with a low sodium content, it is also delicious as a stand-alone food product.
It is widely used in gourmet gastronomy to decorate dishes and added to salads in its fresh and dry state.
